Following the showcase of Sean Wotherspoon Porsche 2.7 RS at the beginning of the year, Wotherspoon has once again teamed up with Stuff by Spot, led by Jimmy Howson, to create a piece that beautifully merges vintage and modern aesthetics, rooted in the iconic 1958 Land Rover Series 2.
This left-hand drive, 2.25 L gasoline model, produced in 1959 in the UK, was initially delivered to Canada and owned by an engineer for over 40 years, returning to the UK only in 2002. Notably, this vehicle has never been driven on the road since its production and is now recognized as one of only six remaining left-hand drive Series 2 models in the UK, with only three retaining the original factory chassis.
Howson purchased this vehicle earlier this year and completed its restoration in Essex between March and July. He then showcased it in the United States during the Monterey Car Week. While retaining the original body parts, he upgraded this classic off-roader with a refurbished engine and transmission, installed Wolf alloy wheels and a CarPlay system, and fitted the rear seat with built-in speakers.
This project once again showcases Wotherspoon's unique creative style—skillfully blending rarity with historical context. Unlike the Porsche 2.7 RS, which emphasizes color and detail, this Land Rover respects its original texture while infusing modern elements, offering a fresh perspective as a tribute to the British classic multifunctional off-roader.
