Keith Herron transforms Advisry into an ever-evolving archive of artistic narratives in menswear, blending street vernacular with the atmosphere of high fashion. The brand's latest runway showcase marks Herron's sharpest narrative expression to date.
This series is titled 4 Moral Tales and is inspired by Éric Rohmer’s film anthology of the same name. The exhibition is set in a gallery in Chelsea, with performances divided into four acts, each named after one of Rohmer's four films: Restraint, Temptation, Obsession, and Detachment. The live music features jazz duo Cisco Swank improvising four pieces, adding a spontaneous musical element that has become a hallmark of Herron’s launch events.
The opening quote of the show notes states: In every ordinary action lies the choice that can change everything; the truth is often hidden in the unexpressed void. This so-called The Silent Complexity of Moral Character, which encompasses subtle movements, fleeting glances, and internal conflicts, is the very essence of inspiration for this collection.
Models walk through four draped curtains marked with numbers, each soaked in shades of red, blue, green, and brown. The entire menswear and womenswear collection embodies what Herron describes as Altered Americana, symbolizing America's current state of division, while thematically repeating motifs of checkered patterns, Shepherd's check, and gloves.
