At this year’s LVMH Watch Week, TAG Heuer unveiled three brand new Carrera watches that beautifully balance design innovation and functional exploration. Rather than simply relying on technical upgrades or size adjustments as selling points, the brand delves into the possibilities of the Carrera through a clear design language that considers various functions and wearing scenarios. From the Seafarer, which explores the rhythms of the ocean, to the everyday Glassbox, and the intricately crafted Split-Seconds, these three new models signal that the series is not just a symbol of racing spirit but also a versatile watch platform.
Carrera Chronograph Seafarer

The tidal function has always been a little-known chapter in TAG Heuer’s history. As early as 1949, the brand created the world’s first wristwatch that displayed lunar tide times for Abercrombie & Fitch—the Solunar watch. Later, they introduced the Seafarer, which combined timing functions, providing practical tools for outdoor and sailing enthusiasts of that era. Although these models were not mass-produced back then, they have since become iconic pieces highly sought after in the collector’s market.

In recent years, the name Seafarer has resurfaced, starting with the limited edition Carrera Chronograph Seafarer x Hodinkee launched in 2024. This piece combines tidal display with retro colors, capturing the widespread attention of watch enthusiasts. Fast forward to 2026, TAG Heuer officially integrates Seafarer into its main line, symbolizing the brand’s commitment to reintroducing a historically significant feature back into modern watchmaking.

The latest release features a 42mm stainless steel Glassbox case, beautifully paired with a champagne-colored mother-of-pearl dial and details in lake green and dark yellow hues. Drawing inspiration from the 1967 America’s Cup champion yacht Intrepid, it also resonates with the color palette of early Seafarer timepieces. At the 9 o’clock position, you’ll find a quadrant tide display dial; a light press on the button marked ‘TIDE’ on the side of the case sets the rotating disc in motion. The display is clear and intuitive, perfectly interpreting the mechanical structure’s relationship with ocean rhythms.

The watch is powered by the new TH20-04 in-house movement, specifically designed to integrate tidal functions, maintaining a column wheel and vertical clutch structure, with a power reserve of up to 80 hours. The transparent caseback is made of sapphire crystal and features the classic TAG Heuer Victory Wreath engraving, continuing the legacy of racing heritage and mechanical spirit.

The watch comes with a 7-row stainless steel bracelet and a beige fabric strap that echoes the texture of sailing ropes, enhancing the overall thematic consistency of the design. The Carrera Chronograph Seafarer is set to launch in March 2026, with a reference price of approximately HKD 69,250.
Carrera Chronograph Glassbox (41mm)

Since its launch in 2023, the Carrera Chronograph Glassbox has gradually become the design focal point of the modern Carrera collection. This year’s release of the 41mm stainless steel version fills the gap in the market between the existing 39mm and 42mm models, offering a better wear ratio and overall balance.

The Glassbox watch features a bezel-less structure, where the curved sapphire crystal seamlessly blends with the curved edges of the dial, bringing the timing information closer to your line of sight. This new creation comes in three color options: classic blue, teal, and black with red hands. Each of the three sub-dials is adorned with a beautiful azurage texture, complemented by rhodium-plated hands and Super-LumiNova luminescent coating, ensuring clarity in various lighting conditions.

In terms of design, this new modelfeatures the removal of the date window, returning to the purest visual experience of timekeeping. It is equipped with the in-house TH20-01 automatic chronograph movement, featuring a column wheel and vertical clutch structure, providing an 80-hour power reserve along with the stability and precision needed for everyday use. Accompanied by a seven-row stainless steel bracelet, it boasts a water resistance of up to 100 meters.

The Carrera Chronograph Glassbox (41mm) showcases the complete design language of the series, offering both integrity and comfort for wearers, priced at approximately HKD 62,550. It’s perfect for everyday users and novice collectors alike.
Carrera Split-Seconds Chronograph

Carrera has always emphasized simplicity, readability, and proportion, and the new Split-Seconds Chronograph elevates this language to the realm of high-end watchmaking. This timepiece introduces the rattrapante (split-seconds) feature to the series for the first time, featuring a Grade 5 titanium case and a fully transparent design, making it the most technically ambitious member of the collection.

The watch features a diameter of 42mm and is equipped with an upgraded Glassbox curved sapphire crystal. The smoky gray translucent dial and sub-dials are made from the same sapphire material, revealing a clear internal structure. The red lacquered hands and Super-LumiNova luminous details enhance contrast and readability.

The movement is the TH81-01 automatic chronograph with dual complications, co-developed by TAG Heuer and Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. It features a frequency of 5Hz, a power reserve of 65 hours, and comprises over 350 components. The caseback boasts a curved glass design, embellished with the brand’s shield-shaped rotor and hand-painted racetrack motifs, with all details polished to meet the high standards of luxury watchmaking.

Operating design is streamlined: the 2 and 4 o’clock positions host traditional timing buttons, while the integration of the dual chronograph control key at the 9 o’clock position doesn’t compromise the structure and sleekness of the case. Featuring a black woven rubber strap with red stitching, it combines a sporty vibe with a premium feel. Priced at approximately HKD 950,000, it is expected to launch in June 2026.
