Saucony has officially welcomed a new member to its Endorphin series, the Endorphin Azura, expanding the focus on race-day speed into everyday training. According to the brand’s information, Saucony is a century-old professional running brand from the United States. The Endorphin Azura is not designed for competition; instead, it aims to allow runners to experience a smooth momentum and rhythm during their daily workouts, even without a racing bib or finish line.

Since its launch in 2019, the Endorphin series has been all about speed, featuring various models equipped with carbon plate designs tailored for high-intensity race environments. The Endorphin Azura completes the lineup by introducing the iconic SPEEDROLL™ rolling geometry into a daily training shoe without a carbon plate, emphasizing a natural transition and versatile pacing experience. Brian Moore, the brand’s Chief Product Officer, notes that the team has focused on enhancing the race day experience over the past few years and now aims to bring that exhilarating stride back to everyday running training.

When it comes to technical specifications, the Endorphin Azura features PWRRUN PB ultra-light foam as its midsole core material. This foam is known for its high resilience and lightweight design, providing excellent cushioning while reducing unnecessary weight. The men’s model weighs approximately 240g (EU 42.5), while the women’s model comes in at around 212g (EU 39), making it one of the lighter options among everyday training shoes. With an 8mm drop configuration—40mm at the heel and 32mm at the forefoot—it delivers ample cushioning while maintaining a smooth transition for the foot.

When the pace intensifies to rhythm runs or interval training, the SPEEDROLL™ geometry in the midsole delivers a noticeable rolling sensation that makes transitions in your stride feel seamless. Although it doesn’t incorporate a carbon plate, the combination of the midsole’s curve and rebound properties still creates a propulsion effect that’s close to that of racing shoes. For runners looking to maintain efficiency in their daily workouts without the need to wear carbon-plated shoes for extended periods, this setup offers a relatively balanced option.
When switching to recovery runs or easy jogs, the non-carbon plate structure reveals another side. The midsole maintains a natural bend, reducing the pressure felt from rigid support, and the wider midfoot platform design enhances landing stability. Even at a slower pace, the feel remains soft yet supportive, making it ideal for high-frequency daily training cycles.

The outsole is crafted from XT-900 rubber, designed for enhanced durability to handle frequent road training. The overall structure has a clear focus, not solely aimed at extreme speed; instead, it revolves around the Can be fast or slow. concept, allowing the same pair of shoes to adapt to varying intensity workout plans. This multifunctional positioning gives the Endorphin Azura a distinct role within the lineup, complementing the models that are specifically geared towards performance on race day.
In terms of model numbers, the men’s version is S21070-103 and the women’s version is S11070-124. The suggested retail price is HK$1199, available at select retail outlets and specialty running stores. For runners looking to maintain a lightweight feel during their training while ensuring stability and responsiveness, the Endorphin Azura, weighing in at 240g with an 8mm drop, offers an everyday option that balances efficiency and comfort.
