USM furniture collaboration makes its Hong Kong debut at Lane Crawford, pairing Swiss modular design with Kasing Lung's playful illustrations to create a new limited-edition home and collectible series.
Lane Crawford, the Hong Kong luxury department store, and USM, the Swiss modular furniture maker, announced the partnership with Hong Kong illustrator Kasing Lung. The centerpiece is a limited-edition collectible presented in a USM glass display cabinet, decorated with Lung's signature artwork, and featuring the character Labubu Bob seated on a specially designed USM mini chair, Lane Crawford said.
Each collectible includes a certificate signed by the artist and an NFC-certified, unique registration code to confirm provenance. The release positions the collaboration at the intersection of designer furniture, art-toy culture, and collectible authentication.
USM furniture collaboration reimagines modular cabinets as art
The project expands beyond display pieces into a full USM furniture line, with the brand's classic metal modular cabinets printed with Kasing Lung's monster motifs, transforming minimalist storage into a private home art trove. The designs aim to add a childlike sense of discovery to everyday furniture, Lane Crawford said.
To celebrate the launch, Lane Crawford has opened an immersive pop-up called "The Monsters' Tea Room" inside its Taikoo Shing store, Taikoo Shing (a residential and retail complex on Hong Kong Island). The installation blends nostalgic Hong Kong dining culture with the new furniture pieces, creating a staged environment where the cabinets and collectibles are displayed in a domestic setting.
Sales dates, lottery and preorder details
The limited-edition collectibles will be sold by public lottery from April 23 to May 4, Lane Crawford said. Customers can enter the draw through Lane Crawford's official channels, with rules and eligibility posted on the retailer's website.
The complete USM furniture series is available for preorder through Lane Crawford until July 31. Lane Crawford said customers may reserve pieces in store or via the retailer's online preorder system, and that delivery timing and customization options will be provided at purchase.
Lane Crawford described the launch as an exclusive, Hong Kong-only initiative, blending international furniture design with local illustrative culture. For more information and entry details for the lottery, the retailer advised checking its website or visiting the Taikoo Shing store.
