ASICS new sneakers arrive this season with two models, the GEL STRATUS MC and the GEL 1130 MULE, combining Y2K running aesthetics with modern comfort and sustainability.

ASICS SportStyle said the two releases draw on the brand’s millennium era running designs and adapt classic technology for everyday wear. The company described the line as marrying layered, retro styling with functional modern updates for walking and casual use.
ASICS new sneakers design highlights
The GEL STRATUS MC takes the upper silhouette of the GEL STRATUS 4 and pairs it with the GEL JOG MC outsole structure to preserve layered lines and a retro technical look. The upper mixes breathable mesh and synthetic leather, while the midsole has been optimized and the heel features ASICS GEL cushioning for improved daily walking comfort.
The shoe uses recycled polyester for the mesh upper to reinforce a sustainability angle, ASICS SportStyle said. The GEL STRATUS MC carries a suggested retail price of approximately $88 (originally 690 HKD).

GEL 1130 MULE: a slip on take on a classic runner
The GEL 1130 MULE reimagines the popular GEL 1130 series with an open heel for easy on and off. It retains metallic accent lines, a retro running silhouette, and the series standard outsole design, while adding a tongue stopper and an inner friction resistant liner to improve stability and comfort.
The mule keeps rear GEL cushioning and a TRUSSTIC stability insert to reinforce midfoot support. The GEL 1130 MULE has a suggested retail price of approximately $83 (originally 650 HKD).
Availability and where to buy
ASICS SportStyle said both models are available now at selected ASICS stores and through the brand’s online shop. Shoppers can find the GEL STRATUS MC and the GEL 1130 MULE in multiple colorways aimed at the current retro running trend.
Industry observers note ASICS new sneakers follow the wider market demand for Y2K inspired running designs that pair vintage lines with contemporary comfort technologies. The company positioned the releases as everyday footwear, not strictly performance running shoes.
