Apple is gearing up for its upcoming product launch event, where it will unveil the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series. This lineup includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. These details come from internal documents of the South Korean telecommunications company KT, which reveal the technical specifications of the four new models, including photography features, cooling systems, and video capabilities.
According to leaked information, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are set to feature an upgraded periscope zoom lens that supports an impressive 8x optical zoom, significantly enhancing performance beyond the iPhone 16 Pro's standard of 5x optical zoom. Additionally, all three lenses will be upgraded to 48 million pixels and will introduce 8K video recording capabilities for the first time, allowing users to capture videos in higher resolutions.
According to reports from foreign media, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature a variable aperture system, a mechanical technology that adjusts optical zoom distance, which is a significant departure from the traditional fixed focal length designs.
In terms of the front camera, the entire iPhone 17 series has been upgraded to an impressive 24 million pixels, a significant leap from the 12 million pixels of the iPhone 16 series. This enhancement not only elevates the resolution and detail of selfies but also boosts the quality of FaceTime and video conferencing.
The iPhone 17 Air boasts a stunningly slim profile at just 5.5 millimeters thick and a lightweight of only 145 grams, clearly making it Apple’s lightest and thinnest smartphone ever. To achieve this ultra-sleek design, Apple has introduced a groundbreaking steel shell high-density battery technology, with a battery capacity of about 2,800mAh, potentially incorporating silicon anode technology to maximize power storage.
At the same time, the battery capacity of the iPhone 17 Pro Max reaches an impressive 5,600mAh, continuing to utilize a metal steel shell battery that greatly enhances safety and structural strength.
The iPhone 17 Pro series will feature the upgraded A19 Pro chip, with RAM increased from 8GB to 12GB. This upgrade means significant improvements in app background retention, AI computing, and multitasking efficiency.
Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will introduce VC (Vapor Chamber) thermal management technology for the first time. This tech quickly disperses heat generated by the processor across other areas of the device, effectively preventing hotspot issues. Previously, VC thermal management was mainly used in high-end Android gaming phones, and Apple adopting this technology for the iPhone series highlights its breakthrough in thermal management.
Finally, the iPhone 17 series is set to launch in a variety of fresh new colors. The iPhone 17 Pro series will feature new shades like deep blue and orange, along with a green option. The iPhone 17 will also come in deep blue, orange, and green, while the iPhone 17 Air will offer four color choices: black, white, light gold, and light blue.
According to reports, the prices for the iPhone 17 series have been revealed in South Korea, but the specific pricing for the Hong Kong market will await the official announcement at Apple’s launch event.
