Independent game publisher PLAYISM announced that Glaciered, developed by Studio Snowblind, will be launching its Nintendo Switch 2 version in the winter of 2025, with the exact date yet to be confirmed. The game made its debut at TGS 2024 and has been released in early access (EA) and a demo version on the Steam platform, receiving rave reviews from numerous players.
Story Background
The story is set 6,500 years in the future on Earth, where the onset of the Ice Age has transformed the planet into a massive ice ball, shrouded in thick layers of frost. Life struggles to survive in the oceans hidden beneath the ice. Within this frozen sea, a landscape of ice-draped flora and bioluminescent creatures forms a mesmerizing scene. The twin wings of the Tuwai are the most powerful weapon for players, offering both melee slashing and stabbing capabilities. They can also shoot feathers like bullets for ranged attacks. After executing a melee strike, players can accumulate thermal energy, which can be used to unleash a powerful charged attack. Additionally, players can equip various unique abilities, such as damage defense from Crystallized Blade of Area Attack. These diverse combat strategies will showcase stunning results in the tumultuous battles of the ocean.

The World of Mysterious Creatures
In the depths of the ocean 65 million years later, a plethora of ancient extinct species and uniquely evolved creatures thrive. For instance, players will delve into underwater caves in the initial area Sea of Tranquility, where they'll encounter lurking dangerous beings. As night falls, perilous creatures like the highly venomous Jixiu emerge, adding further challenges to the players' adventure. To fulfill the mission of an explorer, players must bravely dive into this treacherous environment.
Knowledge System
This piece features a unique Knowledge System, resembling an encyclopedia that assists players in understanding the various creatures and ecosystems within the ocean. As the story progresses and players accomplish various Exploration objectives, they can unlock knowledge about each creature, enhancing the experience points and other benefits gained when defeating them.
