Universal Studios plans to open a brand-new large-scale theme park in the UK, covering an area of 476 acres. The park will feature multiple themed zones and integrated accommodation facilities, with construction expected to begin as early as 2026.
A brand-new theme park located south of Bedford, England, has been acquired by its parent company, Comcast Corporation, in 2024. The park will feature Universal’s renowned immersive attractions and is set to include versatile entertainment spaces. Additionally, a hotel with 500 guest rooms will be constructed within the premises. Comcast Corporation President Mike Cavanagh stated that this project marks a historic moment. As the theme park business continues to grow, it will bring more surprises to travelers worldwide. The Universal Destinations & Experiences team’s groundbreaking storytelling and technology will fully showcase the creative arts and tourism industry of the UK.
Although the project is still awaiting approval from the UK government, if it proceeds smoothly, construction is expected to officially begin in 2026 and commence operations in 2031.
