Recently, we’re turning our attention to a brand-new side-scrolling shoot-'em-up game 《Nitro Express》. This game inherits the gameplay style of 《Metal Slug》, but its unique twist lies in featuring beautiful girl characters as the protagonists, set against the backdrop of a futuristic Tokyo. Players can experience the exhilarating recoil from powerful firearms, adding an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay. The official team has announced that the game is set to release on the upcoming May 19th, and a brand-new trailer has been unveiled.
The story of Nitro Express unfolds in a fictional near-future Tokyo Special Administrative Zone, Jing (Nitro). In this world, human life is deeply intertwined with autonomous drones, Waitstaff machine, but a sudden outbreak of rogue machine incidents plunges society into chaos. As a member of the police force, AVDS, the protagonist receives orders to suppress these mechanical threats to societal peace and uncover the conspiracy of armed terrorists pulling the strings behind the scenes.
The core gameplay revolves around side-scrolling shooting, featuring actions like jumping, crouching, and rolling. Players can wield a variety of weapons, including assault rifles, submachine guns, and shotguns. Both bullets and grenades are unlimited, with only cooldown times as constraints. Additionally, the game offers 12 different secondary weapons, such as EMP pulses, remote-controlled drones, and automated attack turrets. It also introduces two key attributes: stability and armor.
In Nitro Express, players can shoot while moving, and for most small firearms, the recoil is relatively low, making the operations feel incredibly smooth. However, when switching to larger firearms, the recoil impacts the character's stability. At this point, stopping momentarily or crouching to fire can help improve stability and enhance damage. Additionally, players will encounter heavily armored enemies in the game, such as armored vehicles and armed helicopters, which pose little threat to standard firearms. Choosing the right weapon wisely to deal with these challenges becomes a key aspect of the gameplay.
Launching officially on May 19, it will be available on the PC Steam platform. We eagerly anticipate an enthusiastic response from all players.
