    A. Lange & Söhne Celebrates Automotive Legacy at European Antique Car Events

    A. Lange & Söhne (Lange) steps back into the world of classic cars this summer, participating in two major antique car events in Europe: the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este held at Lake Como in Italy and the Concours of Elegance Germany by Lake Tegernsee. Through these events, they celebrate the legacy of automotive culture and the pinnacle of watchmaking artistry. This is not just a tribute to classic design and craftsmanship, but it also highlights Lange’s commitment to the dialogue between mechanical art and various fields through special awards.

At the end of May, the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este antique car show was held at Lake Como, Italy, where Lange awarded the Best Car Models winner a bespoke 1815 CHRONOGRAPH white gold watch. The back of the watch is engraved with a unique emblem, and the dial is crafted from solid rose gold, making it a highly collectible piece. This year’s winning vehicle was the 1934 Alfa Romeo Tipo B (P3), owned by German collector Auriga. Lange has been a partner of this event since 2012, continually paying tribute to car owners who embrace tradition and craftsmanship. During the event, the brand also showcased the latest pieces from the Wonders 2025 collection, including new white gold and rose gold models from the 1815 series, ODYSSEUS HONEYGOLD, and standout pieces like the MINUTE REPEATER PERPETUAL.

Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid stated: Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is an event we hold in the highest regard. It’s not just a chance to showcase our brand spirit, but also a significant moment to resonate with the timeless world of classic car culture.

Following that, Lange also announced its return to the Concours of Elegance Germany at Lake Tegernsee at the end of July. This event, organized by the team behind the UK’s Hampton Court Concours of Elegance, is expected to feature around 200 classic cars, set against the stunning backdrop of the historic Gut Kaltenbrunn estate with views of the Alps. In addition to the Best Car Models award, which will be determined by votes from participating car owners, Lange has introduced Rising Collector Award to encourage the younger generation to engage with classic car culture. The prize is a hand-carved balance bridge made of gilded German silver, to be personally awarded by the CEO.

For Lange, this year’s exhibition at Lake Tegern reflects a significant milestone, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the iconic DATOGRAPH collection. The brand has set up a dedicated showcase featuring a range of classic and innovative timepieces, embodying its relentless pursuit of excellence in craftsmanship and technical innovation. From exclusive watches to the exhibition’s content, Lange emphasizes its profound appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, classic design, and intricate engineering in every detail, once again affirming the undeniable resonance between watchmaking and automotive craftsmanship.
