Koenigsegg has unveiled the brand-new supercar, Sadair’s Spear, with only 30 units produced, all of which were sold out at the private launch event. This latest creation not only continues the brand’s relentless pursuit of speed and handling, but also embodies founder Christian von Koenigsegg’s deep emotional connection to his father, Jesko. The name draws inspiration from Jesko von Koenigsegg’s final equestrian competition in 1976, where he rode his beloved horse “Sadair’s Spear.” This blend of personal history and modern racing technology is perfectly encapsulated in the car’s name.
The Sadair’s Spear is equipped with Koenigsegg’s iconic twin-turbo V8 engine, paired with the revolutionary Light Speed Transmission that enables gear shifts at an astonishing 46,000 RPM. In terms of performance, it delivers up to 1,300 horsepower when using standard gasoline, and an explosive 1,625 horsepower with E85 biofuel, surpassing the power-to-weight ratio of the brand’s previous flagship, the One:1. The body has been lightened by approximately 35 kilograms, and with an enhanced cooling system and engine tuning, it achieves a perfect balance between performance and reliability.

In terms of aerodynamics, Sadair’s Spear features an all-new lightweight dual-layer active tail wing, an extended front wing blade, a redesigned engine cover ventilation port, and integrated Gurney flaps, all of which significantly optimize downforce and cooling efficiency. The front suspension is also equipped with Triplex shock absorbers and an active height adjustment system, ensuring maximum grip and stability in high-speed corners. Additionally, the rear hood is fitted with an air intake that further enhances power performance at high speeds, while the improved airflow design of the front hood offers better cooling performance and extra downforce.

When it comes to the wheels, we’ve opted for a distinctive seven-spoke, hollow carbon fiber Aircore design, which pairs perfectly with wider racing tires. This setup, combined with a custom suspension system and Triplex dampers, further enhances track performance. The braking system features multi-layer carbon ceramic brake discs, along with upgraded brake pad materials, ensuring stable and reliable stops at high speeds.
The interior continues Koenigsegg’s signature minimalist aesthetic, featuring a lightweight carbon fiber construction. It comes standard with racing seats equipped with three-point seat belts, and there’s an option for a six-point racing variant. The central control area is fitted with the SmartCenter interactive interface, while the steering wheel integrates the SmartCluster instrument system. Additional features include both USB wired and wireless charging capabilities, along with the brand’s unique Autoskin automatic body control system and a full-view parking assist system—ensuring that this race car retains practicality for everyday road use.

It’s worth mentioning that at the Gotland Ring in Sweden, Sadair’s Spear made its debut test, smashing the lap record by an impressive 1.1 seconds faster than the Jesko Attack, showcasing its phenomenal potential. Christian von Koenigsegg emphasizes that this model perfectly embodies the evolution of Koenigsegg, blending ferocious power, precise aerodynamics, and road legality.
Sadair’s Spear isn’t just another legendary creation in Koenigsegg’s history; it showcases how a road-legal supercar can technically push the boundaries of performance and design language. It achieves an impeccable balance between speed, stability, and handling.
