Recently, ADOR Entertainment announced that the Seoul High Court has dismissed the appeal from the five members of the girl group NewJeans to terminate their exclusive contracts. This ruling signifies the court’s unwavering support for ADOR.
ADOR expressed deep gratitude in its official statement regarding the court’s ruling. They hope this decision will provide members with the opportunity to return to NewJeans and further expand their activities. Notably, next month marks the third anniversary of their debut, and ADOR will fully support the artists’ growth and success.
The court reaffirmed the existing agreement which prohibits members from engaging in independent entertainment activities without prior consent from ADOR. This ruling comes after two similar decisions in March and April of 2025, marking yet another favorable judgment for ADOR.
In the appeal, NewJeans mentioned that due to changes in management, their relationship with former CEO Min Hee Jin has become Completely shattered. They also raised allegations of abuse and harassment by ADOR staff, although industry reports indicate that these claims have been dismissed, as South Korean law does not include artists under the labor protection law. Furthermore, the group emphasized that if the injunction is not overturned, their careers could face Irreversible harm, such as prolonged inactivity.
Currently, this preliminary injunction remains in effect, continuing to prohibit the group from engaging in any personal activities without the approval of ADOR.
