The BMW electric scooter CE 04 is back with its first major upgrade nearly four years after its launch. This update focuses on enhancing its design and tech features, with exciting new options like fast charging and customizable appearance kits. The new CE 04 retains its powerful performance and futuristic look while boosting practicality and ride experience for urban commuters. It comes in three different versions to cater to the diverse needs of riders.
Since its production started in 2021, the BMW CE 04 has been celebrated for its futuristic design and high-performance mid-mounted liquid-cooled motor, delivering an output of 31kW (42 horsepower) and torque of 62 Nm. According to BMW, the CE 04 can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, with a top speed limited to 120 km/h, making it an ideal choice for daily commutes and highway cruising. Equipped with an 8.9 kWh battery pack, it boasts a range of up to 130 km in WMTC testing.
In the 2025 facelift, BMW has chosen not to make any changes to the powertrain, instead opting to enhance the product's appeal through new options and design updates. The technological enhancements are equally impressive. The newly launched 6.9 kW fast charger can charge the battery from 0 to 80% in just 45 minutes, significantly faster than the standard 2.3 kW onboard charger, which takes nearly 4 hours. Additionally, features such as the tire pressure monitoring system, central pillar, BMW Headlight Pro adaptive headlights, eCall emergency call system, and dynamic traction control system are also available for customers to install.
The vehicle's structure remains stable, featuring a steel tube frame, 15-inch wheels, and a Bosch ABS braking system (which can be upgraded to ABS Pro). The new CE 04 is also equipped with a 10.25-inch TFT display, offering navigation and smartphone connectivity. There’s still storage space under the seat for a full-face helmet, and the sleek, low body design of the CE 04 undeniably continues its avant-garde style.
The new CE 04 offers three versions to choose from: Basic, Avantgarde, and Exclusive. The Basic version features a light white paint and a transparent windscreen, showcasing a simple yet elegant design. The Avantgarde version is highlighted with gravity blue and St. Paul yellow accents, complete with a dark windscreen and laser-engraved rims. The Exclusive version boasts a premium silver metallic paint finish, equipped with wind resistance protection, heated grips, and luxurious embroidered seating, along with exclusive rim details. Currently, the starting price for the CE 04 in Europe is approximately €12,000 (around HK$101,760), while the version in the United States is priced at about $12,500 (around HK$97,500), with specific prices varying based on configurations.
