GEELY has officially launched its operations in the Hong Kong market, opening its first brand showroom in Kowloon Bay. The star of the show is the all-new pure electric SUV, the GEELY EX5, highlighting the company's continued commitment to developing in the new energy vehicle sector. The first GEELY EX5 was handed over during the event, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter for its business in Hong Kong.
During the inauguration ceremony of this new showroom, several guests, including Zhao Borui, the National Sales Manager of Geely International’s Asia-Pacific division, participated in the ribbon-cutting and toast alongside the brand's communications team and the management from their Hong Kong dealership. That day also marked the fortunate moment when the first GEELY EX5 was officially delivered to a car owner in Hong Kong, capturing a group photo with Xie Dibang, the General Manager of the dealership Zhilian Zhili New Energy Vehicle Services (Hong Kong) Limited, and his team.
The design highlights of the GEELY EX5 focus on smart driving and flexible space configuration. The cabin is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, foldable heated and cooled front seats, and spacious rear seating, offering a storage capacity of up to 1877L to meet family car needs. In terms of safety performance, this model has met the five-star safety standards of Euro NCAP and ANCAP and utilizes the GEA smart platform with a CTB integrated body and battery design.
The innovation of the vehicle lies in its globally pioneering 11 in 1 Smart Electric Drive System, a technology that integrates crucial components such as the motor, electronic control, and reducer into a compact volume of just 0.079 cubic meters. This integration not only effectively lowers the vehicle's center of gravity but also enhances stability in handling. The GEELY EX5 boasts an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.269Cd, combined with a 13.8-inch heads-up display and intelligent driving assistance features, providing an even smoother driving experience.
Additionally, the executive team at Geely Automobile has revealed plans to establish three new service locations in Hong Kong, including an after-sales center, to enhance support for car owners. They also announced that two new models, the Star Wish and the Starship 7, will be introduced this year, further expanding their product lineup.
