The all-new all-electric Mercedes-Benz CLA has officially launched in Hong Kong, marking the debut of the brand’s latest vehicle series and symbolizing the arrival of a new generation of design and technology. One of the standout features of the CLA is its use of an 800V electrical architecture combined with a two-speed transmission, offering a highly efficient solution that is rare in the market. With just a 10-minute fast charge, drivers can replenish a range of 285 to 325 kilometers, effectively eliminating the range anxiety often associated with electric vehicles. WLTP testing data shows that the CLA 250+ can achieve an impressive maximum range of 694 to 792 kilometers, demonstrating significant advantages for long-distance travel.

Most electric vehicles on the market still utilize a 400V architecture and a single-speed transmission, but the CLA takes it up a notch with an 800V system, allowing for a charging power of up to 320 kW. Coupled with an 85 kWh high-voltage battery, the energy conversion efficiency is boosted to 93%. The two-speed transmission ensures the vehicle performs more balanced whether in urban settings or on highways, providing both strong acceleration from a standstill and maintaining efficiency at high speeds. The CLA 250+ delivers 272 hp with a 0-100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds, while the CLA 350 4MATIC reaches an impressive 354 hp and 515 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, with both models capped at a top speed of 210 km/h.

The CLA features both MB.OS and the fourth-generation MBUX, establishing a brand new chip-to-cloud platform. The interior is anchored by a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 14-inch central control LCD, with an optional heads-up display. The operating interface has been revamped with a Zero Layer design, allowing users to customize frequently used functions for a clean, minimalistic visual experience. The upgraded voice assistant now supports generative AI, capable of processing natural language and engaging in multi-turn conversations, making navigation, entertainment, and everyday tasks more intelligent.
Luxury and digital experience stand out equally. CLA offers 64-color ambient lighting and star-shaped trim, combined with the Burmester 3D sound system featuring 16 speakers and 850 W output, supporting Dolby Atmos and customizable sound themes. Whether driving, locking the car, or charging, you can enjoy sound prompts that create a more personalized atmosphere.

In terms of safety, the CLA is equipped with a range of new features, including central airbags, high-voltage battery warnings, and an automatic power cutoff system, further enhancing security. The vehicle’s drag coefficient is just 0.21, with a nearly flat chassis that, combined with a brand-new three-link front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, balances comfort and handling. Official sources indicate that the overall carbon footprint has decreased by 40% compared to the previous generation of similar models, with a 30% reduction in carbon emissions from battery production, and the use of more recycled materials, reflecting a commitment to sustainability.

Compared to other electric vehicles in the same class, the biggest difference of the CLA lies in Fast charging and long battery life in perfect harmony.. Many models either offer rapid charging but have average range or provide extended range with limited fast charging capabilities. In contrast, the CLA delivers nearly 800 km of long range and the ability to quickly recharge in a short time, making it a worry-free choice for long trips or daily use.

In terms of design, the CLA features a shark-nose front, glowing star emblem grille, and 142 three-pointed stars embellished throughout. The rear showcases animated star-shaped taillights. The frameless doors and hidden door handles complement the large panoramic sunroof, balancing practicality and aesthetics. The body is larger than the previous generation, with a wheelbase of 2,790 mm, providing more spacious seating. The trunk capacity reaches 405 L, along with an additional 101 L in the front trunk, significantly enhancing functionality.
The CLA is clearly positioned: not just an electric vehicle, but a model that balances range, fast charging, smart experiences, and a luxurious atmosphere all at once. For buyers seeking high efficiency and long range, while also valuing cabin quality and digital experiences, the CLA offers a perfectly balanced option. Starting at HK$499,000 in Hong Kong, it is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year.
