International hotel brand Bob W has recently embarked on a new journey in the Swedish market, choosing a location at Kammakargatan 5 in the Norrmalm district of Stockholm, inside a beautifully renovated building from 1965. This tech-forward apartment hotel offers well-equipped studio rooms complete with kitchens, designed to flexibly cater to travelers' short-term and long-term stay needs.
The two co-founders of Note Design Studio, Johannes Karlström and Jesper Mellgren, have meticulously crafted an interior design that intertwines the architectural features of the 1960s with the modern vibe of Stockholm, drawing special inspiration from the surrounding vibrant dining culture and urban energy.
In its design, Note strives to balance sustainability with cost-effectiveness, retaining as much of the existing materials as possible and making adjustments only where necessary. The design style emphasizes a minimalist yet rugged aesthetic, creating a striking contrast with the vibrant colors found within the interiors. Monochrome corridors guide guests into suites and communal spaces, where they are welcomed by a curated selection of antique furniture, intermingling with bold and playful details. Each space seems to tell the story of Stockholm's transformation, showcasing the city's evolution through thoughtfully planned design contrasts.
Bob W is renowned for its exceptional application of technology, local high-end design, and a blend of home comfort, bringing to life the brand's core philosophy through a seamless digital check-in experience. Co-founder and CEO Niko Karstikko stated: Every detail pays homage to the creative culture of this city., allowing travelers to genuinely experience the pulse of Stockholm while enjoying fully digital service standards.
The Stockholm project is just the beginning of the collaboration between Note Design Studio and Bob W. Looking ahead, they will expand into Copenhagen’s Meatpacking District, transforming a 7,500 square meter former police station into a flagship apartment hotel with 169 rooms, slated to open this quarter.
