In mainland China, whether it’s private cars or commercial vehicles, they must be registered with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (abbreviated as MIIT) before they can be mass-produced and sold. Once the necessary procedures are completed, the ministry will include the product in a monthly registration list, indicating that it has received the green light for mass production. So, in the recent release of the new vehicle product list in its 402nd edition, the smart #6 made an unexpected appearance, signaling that this new smart car, which has been somewhat under the radar, is about to hit the production line.

In fact, as early as the beginning of the year, rumors were circulating that smart would launch a four-door, three-volume sedan. It was expected to be unveiled in April next year at the Beijing Auto Show, but who would have thought? They’ve jumped the gun, and it’s already here. This new model, called #6 EHD (Electric Hybrid Drive), is the second offering of its kind, following the #5 EHD. It comes equipped with the same 1.5-liter turbo engine, delivering 163 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque, channeling power to the front wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. Furthermore, it boasts a 20 kWh battery and an electric motor (with a combined system power of 435 horsepower and a torque of 635 Nm), enabling it to achieve an electric range of up to 120 kilometers, and with a full tank and a charged battery, it can reach an impressive total range of up to 1,500 kilometers.

In addition, this car shares the same PMA2+ chassis as the Zeekr 007, with dimensions of 4.9 meters in length, 1.92 meters in width, and 1.5 meters in height. It offers an adjustable rear spoiler, and its design stands out from previous smart products. What are your thoughts on this smart #6 EHD?
