In mainland China, both private and commercial vehicles must apply to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (abbreviated as 工信部) for registration before they can be released into the market on a large scale. Once the required procedures are completed, they will be added to the monthly updated registration list, indicating that the product has received permission for mass production. Therefore, it’s intriguing to see the smart #6 included in the new vehicle product list in batch number 402, signifying that this previously hidden new model will soon enter the production phase.

In fact, there have been reports since the beginning of the year indicating that smart will unveil a four-door sedan. We thought the car would be revealed after its presentation at the Beijing Auto Show in April, but it surprised everyone by making an early appearance. This vehicle, named #6 EHD (Electric Hybrid Drive), is the second model of its kind following the #5 EHD. It comes equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 163 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted through a three-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels, operating in conjunction with a 20 kWh battery and a motor that together generate 435 horsepower and 635 Nm of torque. The electric driving range can reach up to 120 kilometers, and when fully fueled and charged, it can achieve a driving range of 1,500 kilometers.

Additionally, this car shares the same PMA2+ chassis with Zeekr (جيك) 007, featuring dimensions of 4.9 meters in length, 1.92 meters in width, and 1.5 meters in height, along with an option for a liftable rear wing. Its design diverges from previous offerings by smart, so what do you think of the smart #6 EHD?
