Whether it’s a private car or a commercial vehicle, every model must be declared to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) before mass production and market launch in Mainland China. Once all the necessary procedures are completed, the ministry will announce the product in their monthly declaration roster, signifying that the product has obtained approval for mass production. Recently, we spotted the smart #6 in the 402nd batch of newly announced vehicle products, which indicates that this subtly impressive new model from smart is about to enter mass production.

Earlier this year, news broke that Smart would be launching a four-door sedan, and while we expected to wait until the #2 debuted at the Beijing Auto Show next April, it has surprisingly been revealed early. This new model is named #6 EHD (Electric Hybrid Drive) and follows the #5 EHD as the second car of its kind. It features the same 1.5-liter turbo engine, delivering 163 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque, transmitted to the front wheels through a 3-speed automatic gearbox. Combined with a 20 kWh battery and motor, the system produces a total output of 435 horsepower and 635 Nm of torque, enabling an all-electric range of up to 120 kilometers. With a full tank and a fully charged battery, it can achieve a staggering driving range of up to 1,500 kilometers.

Additionally, this car shares the same PMA2+ chassis as the Zeekr 007, measuring 4.9 meters long, 1.92 meters wide, and 1.5 meters high. It also offers the option of a retractable rear spoiler. The design style is distinctly different from previous smart products. What do you all think about the smart #6 EHD?
