Recently, a major art book titled "Relics: Porsche Motorsport" was launched through a collaboration between Type 7 and Porsche Motorsport. This art book deeply explores the brand’s racing achievements and the hidden stories behind them through a unique artistic perspective. This special edition art book was planned and photographed in Porsche’s Flacht and Weissach restricted areas, consisting of 550 pages that document a precious collection spanning over 250 eras.
This project, led by ERG Media, explores the innovative thoughts hidden behind the race-borne textures of components and the marks of time through high-resolution photography by creator Thomas Work. Simultaneously, the book collaborates with the Porsche company archive to provide in-depth stories, featuring interviews with legendary racing team leader Roger Penske and team drivers Richard Lietz and Pascal Wehrlein.
From a design perspective, this book showcases the work of Andy Cruz from House Industries, featuring a deep red embossed synthetic leather design that pays homage to the file folders of the 1960s. This English hardcover edition weighs in at a substantial 7.7 kg and is priced at €350 (approximately $405), offering readers who are passionate about racing culture a truly unique tactile collection experience.
