Located within the luxurious Regal Hong Kong Hotel, Qura Bar is renowned for its tranquil and elegant atmosphere along with its exquisite cocktails. This late summer, it will host a themed event that beautifully intertwines history, flavor, and art, happening exclusively on the nights of August 21 and 22, 2025. Led by Qura Bar’s head mixologist, Quentin Luk, the event draws inspiration from the tea culture of the Song Dynasty and the beauty of ancient artifacts. Guests will experience three tea-themed cocktails paired with a selection of delicate snacks, embarking on a cultural journey that spans a millennium.

The event flows seamlessly through the theme of three signature cocktails, crafted to echo the rhythm of a traditional tea gathering. It begins with a light opening, progresses through layers of depth, and culminates in a serene and profound conclusion, creating a complete narrative of flavors. The first cocktail, Dawn, combines cognac, Shatian pomelo, Pu-erh tea, and soda water. Its refreshing acidity and delicate bubbles evoke the first light of morning spilling into a teacup, delivering a bright sense of awakening that sets the stage for the entire experience.
The second option, Plum Blossom, features a base of gin infused with preserved plums, seamlessly blending the floral notes of jasmine with citrus to create a flavorsome profile that feels both nostalgic and modern. The subtle saltiness of the preserved plums intertwines beautifully with the elegance of jasmine, offering a rich tapestry of taste that evokes memories of Chinese pickling culture while showcasing the innovative possibilities of mixology.
The final chapter, Whisky Whisper, centers around a rich Scotch whiskey infused with oolong tea, complemented by citrus and cold-pressed orange oil. This robust and smooth concoction lingers on the palate, and it’s specially presented in an authentic Song Dynasty tea cup. In this moment, history and contemporary expression converge, allowing guests to experience the tranquil flow of time through the essence of the vessel and the flavors of the drink.
Three cocktails are paired with three specially designed snacks, enhancing the sensory experience. These include a Fassona beef tartare cone adorned with Parmesan cheese and pesto, crispy New Caledonian sustainable shrimp wrapped in a delicate pastry served with a honey chili sauce, and Atlantic cod croquettes accompanied by a sweet and sour bell pepper sauce. Each snack not only complements the drinks but also contributes to the overall narrative, showcasing the cultural imagery behind the cocktail themes through texture and ingredients.
This event is collaborating with Fine Art Asia 2025, showcasing a selected series of ancient artifacts that resonate with the theme of the tea ceremony. Guests will have the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of Song Dynasty craftsmanship up close, immersing themselves in the dialogue between the ancient objects and the flavors they embody. The displayed pieces are exclusive to this event and will not be featured at the art fair in October, adding a unique and precious value to the experience.
