This season, Honda Racing Corporation has teamed up with Amalgam Collection to launch a limited edition scale model celebrating the 60th anniversary of the brand's first race victory in F1, reviving the classic RA272 (chassis number #103). At the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix, driver Richie Ginther successfully crossed the finish line in the original car, marking Honda's first win and showcasing the achievements of this Japanese automaker in F1, along with the initial triumph of its engine and team.

This model is meticulously handcrafted by Amalgam artisans, available in a 1:8 scale (limited to 30 pieces, priced at $28,995) and a 1:18 scale (limited to 300 pieces, priced at $1,735). Each piece comprises over 1,600 intricate components, fully replicating the 1.5-liter V12 engine. It comes with a display box, a certificate of authenticity with a unique serial number, and a commemorative booklet personally signed by Koji Watanabe, the president of Honda Racing Corporation.

This brand new creation will debut at the upcoming Monterey Car Week before becoming available for online orders. The team first utilized digital scanning technology at the Honda Collection Hall in Motegi, Japan, capturing every detail of the original vehicle—from the paintwork to the engine components—with precision. Honda emphasizes that this RA272 scale model is not only a collectible but also an opportunity for you to become a part of the brand's racing history.
