Toyota has announced the launch of the bZ3X, a groundbreaking electric vehicle tailored specifically for the Hong Kong market, making its debut at K11 MUSEA in Tsim Sha Tsui. This model stands out as the only right-hand drive version globally, showcasing its unique positioning. Developed under the supervision of Toyota’s headquarters in Japan and crafted in collaboration with top research and production teams from the mainland, the bZ3X symbolizes Toyota’s commitment to the Hong Kong market. It also marks a significant milestone as Crown Motors approaches its 60th anniversary.

To cater to Hong Kong’s driving habits and urban road conditions, the bZ3X underwent extensive local road testing even before its official launch. The vehicle is equipped with a range of innovative features, including a smart system that connects to mobile apps and a four-zone English voice control function, allowing drivers to effortlessly manage the system with just a soft voice command. The 14.6-inch touchscreen supports navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay. On the audio front, it boasts a Yamaha sound system with 11 speakers, delivering an immersive sound experience. Inside, there are adjustable LED ambient lights available in up to 32 colors, creating a personalized cabin atmosphere.

The bZ3X features a V2L (Vehicle to Load) external power supply function with a maximum output of 3,300W, enough to meet power demands for outdoor activities or emergencies. The panoramic sunroof comes with electric sunshades as standard, enhancing comfort and providing a sense of visual spaciousness during your journey. As for the seating, both front and rear seats can fully recline flat, creating an expansive lounging area, while the rear seats also support a manual angle adjustment of 20 degrees, ensuring long-distance passengers enjoy maximum comfort.

When it comes to spatial design, the all-new bZ3X makes the most of cabin height and seating layout, providing backseat passengers with an impressive 1,020mm of legroom. With an interior height of 1,215mm, even a 6-year-old can stand and move around comfortably. The rear doors can open up to 80 degrees, making it easy to install child safety seats and providing convenient access for the elderly, showcasing a family-friendly design philosophy. The trunk space measures 427 liters, perfect for everyday outings or short trips.

In terms of safety, the bZ3X is equipped with a range of cutting-edge safety technologies that Toyota has unveiled for the first time, including its groundbreaking navigation-grade power battery technology. This battery system boasts a safety pedigree drawn from over 28 million batteries already in use and features a unique 90-degree dual-side pillar impact test, significantly surpassing the standard national requirement of 75 degrees, ensuring that the battery structure remains intact even in the event of a side impact. Moreover, its thermal diffusion tests align with the new national battery standards set to be implemented in China by 2026, guaranteeing that it will not catch fire or explode even two hours after a thermal runaway.

The structural integrity of the vehicle has undergone rigorous testing, including a unique Mountain shape simulation crash test that applies a pressure of 507J to mimic the effects of rugged terrain, ensuring that battery intrusion at the bottom is less than 0.5mm. The overall chassis is constructed using 72% high-strength materials, of which 30% is hot-formed steel, complemented by the Eye letter structure, a one-piece aluminum alloy energy absorption box, and double-layer stamped steel plates, thus enhancing the overall structural rigidity while balancing safety and handling performance. It is equipped with seven airbags to provide comprehensive protection in the event of an accident.

To further enhance active safety, the bZ3X is equipped with a dual braking power supply system and dual control braking mechanism, ensuring that even if one system encounters a problem, the backup system can intervene instantly. A newly added emergency power cut-off button can immediately stop power output during an accident while keeping steering and braking functionalities intact to ensure the vehicle comes to a safe stop. Additionally, the driver’s seat retains a physical door lock button to improve escape and rescue efficiency in critical situations.

With a range of driving assistance systems including collision warning, lane keeping, blind spot detection, rear traffic alerts, smart high beam control, and safe exit warnings, the bZ3X offers a comprehensive electric driving solution that keeps your journeys safeguarded.
In terms of pricing, the brand new Toyota bZ3X is available for a special one-for-one price of HKD 229,600 for the first 100 units, down from the original price of HKD 239,600. For inquiries, you can contact the Crown Motors showrooms in Kowloon Bay, Wan Chai, and Sha Tin.
