Vans Authentic 44 is reimagined in a new Premium Authentic 44 Denim Pack that swaps canvas for treated denim uppers and carries a suggested retail price of about $80, Vans said.
The Premium Authentic 44 Denim Pack includes two colorways, Denim Black and Denim Indigo, both centered on denim as the primary material. Vans said the uppers use a specially treated denim that shows natural fading and abrasion, giving each pair a layered, worn-in look while preserving the shoe's overall structure.
Vans Authentic 44, design and materials
Rather than traditional canvas, the Authentic 44 uses denimlike material across the upper, extending the textured treatment to the side rubber wall and the toe and heel bumper areas. The brand said this continuity from upper to sole creates a unified visual and tactile profile.
The finish is intended to mimic the look of shoes that show natural wear over time, adding visual depth without extra ornamentation. Vans said the approach prioritizes practical details and material quality over decorative flourishes.
Comfort, cushioning, and sustainability
Comfort upgrades for the Premium Authentic 44 include a SOLA FOAM ADC insole that Vans said delivers noticeable rebound and impact attenuation for long wear. The insole is tuned to balance support and softness for everyday movement.
Vans also said the insole incorporates about 30 percent bio based materials, an effort to add a sustainability element to the shoe's construction. The brand described this as part of a wider push to use more renewable inputs in daily footwear.
Outsole and performance
The outsole retains the Authentic 44 characteristic rubber assembly and classic waffle tread for traction, making the shoe suitable for walking and skateboarding. Vans said the rubber setup preserves the high grip that riders and everyday users expect from the model.
Because the denim treatment is carried into the lower elements of the shoe, the overall silhouette remains coherent, and the tactile contrast between the upper and outsole is enhanced.
