Xiaomi 17T price starts at approximately $510 in Hong Kong, as Xiaomi positions the new series as a near flagship option that brings a Leica 5x telephoto, 1.5K AMOLED screen and large batteries into a HK$3,999 to HK$5,999 price band (approximately $510 to $765, originally HK$3,999 to HK$5,999 / reference rate 1 HKD = 0.1276 USD), Xiaomi said.

Xiaomi 17T price and positioning
The Xiaomi 17T series, which includes the Xiaomi 17T Pro and the Xiaomi 17T, deliberately keeps suggested Hong Kong retail pricing between HK$3,999 and HK$5,999 to close the gap between lower midrange models and five figure flagships. All models start with 12GB of RAM, Xiaomi said, a baseline aimed at users who run many apps or play games for long sessions.

Camera system and imaging features
Imaging and battery life are the core selling points. Xiaomi said the whole series ships with Leica Summilux tuned optics and a 5 times optical periscope telephoto, paired with a software ISZ technique Xiaomi describes as enabling lossless optical-class 10 times zoom. The 5 times periscope supports 50 megapixels, optical image stabilization and up to 120 times AI zoom, features Xiaomi said are targeted at concert, travel and street photography scenarios.

Xiaomi 17T Pro, screen and performance
The Xiaomi 17T Pro features a 6.83 inch 1.5K AMOLED display with ultra-narrow bezels achieved through a LIPO packaging process that trims each side to 1.29 millimeters. The 17T Pro tops out at a 144 hertz refresh rate, while the regular 17T runs at 120 hertz. Both panels reach a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and carry a fourfold eye care certification from TÜV Rheinland.

Under the hood the Xiaomi 17T Pro uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 flagship processor built on a 3 nanometer process, with an eight core large core architecture and an upgraded NPU Xiaomi calls NPU 990 Gen AI Engine 2.0 to accelerate on-device AI tasks. Xiaomi also fitted both models with a 3D IceLoop cooling system that uses gas liquid separation to move heat away from the chipset for sustained performance.

Battery and charging
The series emphasizes long runtime. The Xiaomi 17T Pro packs a 7,000 milliampere hour high energy silicon carbon battery with support for 100 watt wired fast charge and 50 watt wireless fast charge. Xiaomi claims the Pro model aims for two day battery life under typical mixed use for heavy gamers and creators who shoot 4K video.

Xiaomi 17T, a compact option
The regular Xiaomi 17T targets buyers who want a smaller footprint without giving up endurance. The model starts at HK$3,999, approximately $510 (originally HK$3,999 / reference rate 1 HKD = 0.1276 USD), and uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra built on 4 nanometers, a 6.59 inch body, a 6,500 milliampere hour battery and 67 watt fast wired charging, Xiaomi said.

Is the Xiaomi 17T worth buying
With entry models already nudging toward HK$2,000 and flagship phones often exceeding HK$10,000, rising chip and storage costs have pushed up prices across the market. The Xiaomi 17T series uses a HK$3,999 starting price to add Leica periscope telephoto, eye care 1.5K displays and large 6,500 mAh or 7,000 mAh batteries to a price band where those features are uncommon.
If you are using a two to three year old midrange phone and do not want to step up to a five figure flagship, the Xiaomi 17T may be a practical candidate if your priorities are long battery life, farther zoom, or a higher refresh display. Xiaomi is offering the phones on mi.com Hong Kong, in Xiaomi stores and through major retail chains starting May 29, with some channels providing early bird gifts and up to 12 months of interest free installment plans, Xiaomi said.
