Jordan Retro series launches on Apple Music with Retro Sounds, a DJ-led show from Jordan Brand that reexamines the cultural history behind classic Air Jordan Retro models.

Jordan Brand announced the collaboration with Apple Music, saying the series will use music, DJ mixes, and storytelling to reinterpret the cultural journeys of several signature Jordan Retro releases.
The series will be exclusive to Apple Music, with each episode built around a single representative Jordan Retro model, pairing that shoe with the music and cultural context of its era.

Jordan Retro series format and creative team
The program is curated by Jordan Brand’s in-house DJs and cultural team, and it will examine how each Retro model moved from the basketball court into wider street culture.
Each episode centers on one Retro model, combining archival music, DJ commentary, and first-person stories to show the relationship between the shoe and the sounds of its time.
Episode one: Air Jordan 3 True Blue
The premiere episode focuses on the Air Jordan 3 True Blue, and it is hosted by Chase B and Manny Peralte Jr., who guide listeners through the music and culture of 1988.
The first episode mixes historical context with a dedicated DJ set, and Apple Music will make the DJ mix available on demand for subscribers after the live broadcast.

Release details and listening options
The show will premiere with a free live broadcast on Apple Music 1 at 5 a.m., July 16, Hong Kong time, Apple Music said, and the full episode plus the accompanying DJ mix will be available to subscribers for on-demand listening afterward.
Apple Music said Retro Sounds will join the platform’s slate of original programming, and that the series aims to broaden listeners’ understanding of songs, artists, and the culture that shaped each Jordan Retro release.
What to expect next from the Jordan Retro series
Jordan Brand said future episodes will spotlight additional classic Jordan silhouettes, using the soundtracks of their release periods to unpack each shoe’s influence on fashion, sports, and street culture.
Listeners can expect a mix of archival tracks, new DJ mixes, and spoken-word stories that aim to connect the dots between the sneakers and the music scenes that elevated them. The Jordan Retro series will appear on Apple Music as episodes roll out later this year.
