Panerai Luna Rossa watches arrive for the 38th Americas Cup, as Panerai unveiled two new Luminor models tied to its continued sponsorship of the Luna Rossa sailing team, the company said.
Panerai said the new releases emphasize practical sailing functions rather than deep dive capabilities, answering needs for timing and cross time zone use with two references: the Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 and the Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791.

The Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 uses a 44 millimeter brushed stainless steel case and houses Panerais P.9210 automatic chronograph movement, which the brand lists with a 42 hour power reserve, Panerai said.
The watch keeps Luminors signature crown protector, and Panerai positioned the chronograph pushers on the left side of the case as a distinct design element for this series. A silver sunray dial uses white Super-LumiNova X2 for luminescence, and the two chronograph subdials feature azurage concentric rings with red accents that echo the Luna Rossa team colors.
An inner chapter ring includes a tachymeter scale that can be used to calculate average speed over a fixed distance, a practical feature for sailing competition timing, Panerai said.
Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 details
PAM01768 is the first watch in the Luna Rossa line to ship with a gray fabric Velcro strap with a red stripe, intended for quick fit adjustments during water activity. Panerai also includes a black rubber strap for alternate wear.
The watch has a solid caseback and 100 meter water resistance, which Panerai says is verified by additional in-house testing that exceeds the marked rating by 25 percent. The Chrono is limited to 500 pieces worldwide, the brand said.
Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791 for everyday wear
The Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791 takes a more everyday approach, with a 40 millimeter stainless steel case that is easier to wear for a wider range of wrists. For the first time in the Luna Rossa series, Panerai offers a metal bracelet, which pushes the reference toward a sport watch aesthetic while keeping sailing DNA.
The watch runs on the P.900/GMT automatic movement with a three day power reserve. A central red GMT hand, inspired by the Luna Rossa sail surface, shows a second time zone for travelers and professional crew who cross regions often.
The bracelet uses Panerais quick release system so owners can swap straps without tools, improving day to day flexibility, the company said. The GMT model joins Panerais regular collection rather than being a limited edition.

Both new Panerai Luna Rossa watches carry 100 meter water resistance and were tested to Panerais standards, the company said, reinforcing the brands focus on practical performance for maritime use.
The Chrono PAM01768, limited to 500 pieces, targets collectors who want a racing oriented timing tool, while the GMT PAM01791 is aimed at buyers who prefer a metal bracelet and travel oriented functionality.
