Swedish brand Teenage Engineering is renowned for its groundbreaking electronic instruments. Recently, it has teamed up with Vässla, another Swedish company focusing on micro electric transportation, to officially enter the urban mobility sector. The result of this collaboration is the EPA-1, Teenage Engineering's first electric scooter that perfectly merges sleek industrial design with practical functionality.
The name EPA-1 comes from Swedish En Passar Alla, which means Suitable for Everyone, perfectly reflecting both parties’ commitment to modular and human-centered design philosophies. Its body design is sleek and comes with a replaceable frame, equipped with 11 reinforced locking points that easily accommodate a variety of accessories such as storage baskets, helmet storage boxes, and even passenger seats. This provides riders with flexible assembly options, creating a highly personalized commuting experience.
The EPA-1 offers two power levels to choose from: Class 1 (2,600W with a top speed of 45 km/h) and Class 2 (1,000W with a top speed of 25 km/h). Additionally, users have the option to select either a 30Ah battery (with a range of approximately 60 km) or a 50Ah battery (with a range exceeding 100 km), both utilizing LiFePO₄ technology. These batteries support both onboard and external dual charging modes, ensuring safety and durability. The EPA-1 is also equipped with convenient features such as NFC keyless ignition, an anti-theft alarm system with automatic wheel locks, LED lighting units, and both USB-A and USB-C charging ports.
