The renowned solo music project Tame Impala, led by Kevin Parker, has officially announced the release date of its fifth studio album Deadbeat, set to drop on October 17.
This new release, five years in the making since the last album, merges the inspiration from Australia’s bush doof culture and rave scene, with Parker transforming it into a batch of Spicy and enchanting psychedelic music. Known for his pursuit of perfection, this time he showcases an unprecedented sense of freedom and improvisation, delivering vocals that are more playful, while the minimalist arrangements reflect the music’s intricate layers.
This update comes alongside the release of the new single Loser and a music video featuring actor and musician Joe Keery/Djo. Lyrically, Deadbeat focuses on the subtleties of everyday emotions, creating a stark contrast to the profound exploration of time in the previous work The Slow Rush. In this fresh piece, Parker delves deeper into the themes of Replacing self-care with self-medication, pairing introspective narratives with captivating beats.
Deadbeat will be launched on October 17, and it’s definitely something music fans should look forward to.
