Song for the Mute adidas fans have a new drop to watch: the Australian label Song for the Mute and adidas are launching a collaborative capsule that pairs tailored shoe construction with streetwear sensibility, starting with the SFTM 009 Samba Freizeit.
Song for the Mute adidas collaboration, first look
Song for the Mute adidas announced the SFTM 009 Samba Freizeit as the centerpiece of the collection, saying the design rewrites a classic dress shoe through a casual lens.
The shoe will bow on May 8, 2026, the brand said, with a wider global release through adidas and select retailers from May 15, 2026.
Design details and materials
Song for the Mute and adidas described the SFTM 009 Samba Freizeit as a grown up take on a classic, offered in two understated colorways: solid black and deep brown.
The uppers use high quality pebbled leather, known in some markets as lychee grain leather, paired with off white Three Stripes for a crisp contrast that keeps the shoe looking composed for both casual and more formal looks.
Surface texture and hardware
The brands said a 12 sided cutout grid across the vamp, inspired by the geometry of solar panels, adds depth to the surface without overt ornamentation.
On both colorways, the double brand logos and gold tone eyelets are intended to suggest restraint rather than loud branding, the companies said.
Sole, laces and wearability
The SFTM 009 Samba Freizeit uses a Freizeit serrated sole for traction and a stepped, thick platform silhouette that leans more casual than a traditional dress shoe.
Matching tone laces and a durable outsole aim to combine daily practicality with a refined finish, the designers said, making the shoe suitable for everyday wear and paired with workwear style pieces.
Where and when to buy
Song for the Mute said the SFTM 009 Samba Freizeit will be available first on the brand site on May 8, 2026, with a global roll out through adidas and selected retailers beginning May 15, 2026.
Collectors and sneaker fans can check Song for the Mute and adidas official channels for regional stock lists and retailer details, the brands advised.
