Seiko recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of its dive watches with the launch of the brand-new Prospex 1968 Heritage Diver’s GMT 60th Anniversary Special Edition. This timepiece pays homage to the brand's first-ever dive watch from 1968, which featured a high-frequency movement and 300-meter water resistance, showcasing Seiko's rich history and spirit of innovation.
This special edition watch is crafted from stainless steel, featuring a silver-white dial and luminous hour markers that exude a minimalist and understated vibe. The vibrant red accents on the hands and the GMT lettering add a playful touch of energy. The bezel is made of blue ceramic with a diving scale, a design that is both stylish and practical for professional diving. The GMT function allows wearers to track three time zones, and for the first time in the Prospex series, it incorporates a short-link bracelet and a micro-adjustable clasp, enhancing comfort and convenience for the wearer.
In terms of performance, this watch is equipped with Seiko's in-house 6R54 automatic GMT movement, offering an impressive three-day power reserve. It also retains the 300-meter water resistance of its predecessor, making it an ideal choice for professional diving activities.
