To celebrate the reopening of its flagship store at Taipei 101, Grand Seiko is unveiling the all-new SLGC009 Sport Collection "Tokyo Lion" as a premiere in Taiwan. This watch is the first in the Sport series to be crafted from ultra-high-strength titanium, boasting a lightweight design while offering twice the hardness of standard stainless steel. Its exceptional corrosion resistance and scratch-proof performance enhance the casing with a dazzling luster and refined texture. The unique Zaratsu polishing technique gives the watch's profile sharp clarity, embodying a design style that balances strength and elegance.
The design of this watch dial draws inspiration from the rhythmic movement of a lion's mane in the wind, with intricate textures that embody a wild beauty. Notably, at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, there are unique sunken 3D chronograph dials. The diamond-cut hour markers resemble lion claws, sparkling with a sharp brilliance, and are enhanced by luminescent coating for clear visibility even during the transition from day to night—fully showcasing its majestic lion essence. In terms of power, the Tentagraph 9SC5 movement delivers an impressive high frequency of 10 beats per second, coupled with a dual-hairpin escapement structure and twin barrel system, offering a power reserve of up to three days.
“Tokyo Lion” is set to be globally launched soon, with a retail price of 470,000 New Taiwan Dollars. Watch enthusiasts can now visit the store to make appointments for viewing the watch.
The Grand Seiko 101 flagship store makes a stylish comeback, embodying the brand’s Alive In Time concept throughout its renovation. The design interweaves natural light, contemporary aesthetics, and the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship within the space. Inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of Grand Seiko’s home—Shinshu, Iwate, and the Tohoku region in Japan—it prominently features stone, wood, water patterns, and dramatic light variations, reflecting the brand’s unique interpretation of "the Nature Of Time."
