AI search company Perplexity has recently launched an advanced subscription plan called Perplexity Max, priced at $200 per month. This service is aimed at heavy users such as content designers, business strategists, and academic researchers. The plan offers unlimited access to Labs tools, along with priority access to new features and customer support, creating a one-stop solution for search efficiency.
Perplexity Max allows users unlimited monthly access to Labs, a tool designed for creating spreadsheets, presentations, and web applications—all with the ease of a proxy development environment, recently launched. Moreover, Max subscribers will be the first to gain access to the new browser, Comet, which Perplexity claims will become Powerful Partners for Online Events, promising users a smoother online experience.
Additionally, Max subscribers will have priority access to other cutting-edge Perplexity services, featuring advanced models based on OpenAI’s o3-pro and Claude Opus 4. This plan is now available on both the web and iOS versions, with Android and desktop app versions coming soon. Perplexity is also planning to launch a Max plan tailored for enterprise users in the near future.
It’s worth mentioning that Perplexity is currently facing intense competition in the AI search market, especially with Google’s recent launch of its AI Mode search feature, which presents a challenge to user experience. Similarly, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has joined the fray with its real-time web browsing capability and is reportedly developing its own browser.
Perplexity’s CEO Aravind Srinivas pointed out that the company handled 780 million queries in May, demonstrating a steady growth trend. With the launch of the Max subscription plan, it is expected to generate additional revenue for the company, further boosting its market competitiveness.
