Mercedes AMG GT electric marks a major shift for AMG, as the 2027 GT 4 Door Coupe moves from a traditional V8 to a fully electric powertrain, the company said.

Mercedes AMG said its new high performance electric architecture uses a three motor layout developed with Yasa, each motor adopting an axial flux design that reduces package size while boosting power density and aiding aerodynamic packaging.
The top GT63 model produces 1,153 horsepower and 1,475 pound feet of torque, Mercedes AMG said, enabling a zero to 60 mph time of 2.0 seconds. The company attributed sustained performance to battery technology derived from Formula One engineering and advanced thermal management.
Battery capacity is listed at 106 kWh, with a full cell electrode design and an integrated 800 volt electrical system that supports up to 600 kW ultra fast charging, allowing charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 11 minutes, Mercedes AMG said.
Chassis, handling, and driving dynamics for the GT 4 Door
To handle the acceleration, the GT 4 Door comes standard with an adaptive active air suspension, semi active roll mitigation, and rear wheel steering up to 6 degrees to preserve agility in tight roads, the automaker said.
The car includes an AMG Race Engineer Core system, a dedicated high performance computer that coordinates vehicle controls and offers six drive modes that let drivers tune throttle response, torque distribution, and controlled drift behavior.
Interior, displays, production, and pricing
Inside, the GT 4 Door is focused on digital integration, with a 14.0 inch central multimedia screen and a 10.2 inch fully digital instrument cluster, plus an optional third screen for the front passenger, Mercedes AMG said.
Mercedes AMG confirmed production of the new GT 4 Door Coupe will begin this summer at the Sindelfingen plant in Germany (Mercedes Benz production site), and the company said pricing will be broadly comparable to previous high output gasoline versions of the GT range.
Mercedes AMG said the GT63 variant and the broader Mercedes AMG GT electric family aim to bring AMG performance to an all electric era while maintaining the handling and driver focused features that define the brand.
