2027 Jeep Wrangler returns with the Laredo name, a retro-styled package that wraps classic 1980s American off road cues around the Wrangler platform, Jeep said.
Jeep said the new Wrangler Laredo revives a name that first appeared during the Jeep CJ era, but it is not a simple throwback. The automaker described the package as a modern reinterpretation, combining retro visual details with Wrangler off road capability.
2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo design revives 1980s look
The exterior uses varying shades of brown as its theme, with the grille finished in Gobi brown and copper colored Beadlock compatible wheels, tow hooks, and Laredo badging, Jeep said. Designers added a dual tone hood, front fender, and side stripe treatment to amplify the eighties off road character.
A light brown soft top is standard, and customers may opt for a black hard top for both two door and four door models, Jeep said. The automaker positioned the Laredo as one of several new entries under its Twelve 4 Twelve program.
Interior details and American ranch motifs
Inside, the Wrangler Laredo emphasizes a retro inspired cabin with Bison Brown Nappa leather seats and Mayan Gold contrast stitching, Jeep said. The dashboard, instrument panel, and armrest feature Global Black trim to add visual contrast and depth.
Jeep said designers added small details that reference American ranch culture, including a hidden cowboy hat motif on the climate control panel and a lariat style 4 by 4 emblem on the exterior. The rear door metal trim is engraved with the geographic coordinates of Laredo, Texas, a nod to the nameplate.
Materials and craftsmanship
Jeep said the choice of Nappa leather and gold stitching was intended to create a layered contrast between warm and dark finishes. The automaker also singled out the Global Black trim as a way to keep the cabin visually grounded while allowing the brown leather to stand out.
Off road hardware and standard upgrades
Beyond styling, Jeep said the Wrangler Laredo is built for trail work out of the factory. The model ships standard with an XTREME 35 inch tire kit, which pairs 35 inch off road tires with Beadlock compatible wheels to improve traction on rough terrain.
Jeep also confirmed the Laredo uses an eight speed automatic transmission to help manage the taller rolling height and technical routes. The automaker described the package as providing higher ground clearance and improved capability over stock Wrangler setups, while preserving Wrangler Trail Rated off road performance.
Ready from the factory
Jeep said the Laredo arrives with a comprehensive set of components so owners do not need to buy additional off road kits to achieve substantial trail capability. The company positioned the model for buyers who want vintage visual cues and out of the box terrain readiness.
Jeep did not announce pricing or exact availability dates in the materials released with the Laredo introduction, but the automaker said more details will follow as the model moves closer to production. A Jeep spokesperson said dealers will receive ordering information later this year.
