Toei Animation has teamed up with Mercer Labs to launch the ONE PIECE x MERCER LABS immersive exhibition, celebrating Eiichiro Oda’s iconic anime series. The exhibition is now officially open at Mercer Labs, commemorating over 25 years since its debut in Japan. This series not only boasts 15 feature films but has also spawned numerous games and cultivated a dedicated fan base.
The exhibition features 11 thematic areas that recreate The Land of Harmony through sound, light, and dynamic installations. Visitors enter through Window Room, where a circular dome mirrors the journey of the Straw Hat crew as they embark on an adventure in the land of samurais; Infinite Room utilizes mirrors to create an endless sea and sky vista, with the Thousand Sunny suspended in space, both spectacular and dreamlike; in Dragon Room, hundreds of LED light points form a dynamic light sculpture that vividly interprets the fierce battle between Zoro and King; while Cave Room showcases a dreamy scene of Momonosuke transforming into a dragon, presented with vibrant and lively pink hydrangeas.
Roy Nachum, co-founder of Mercer Labs, stated: As a museum that merges art and technology, we hope that our new dimension of exhibitions will bring the imagination of ONE PIECE to life.. Additionally, Roy Nachum showcased a new oil painting themed around Luffy and cherry blossoms at the exhibition. The piece cleverly merges his iconic golden crown motif with the spirit of animation.
The exhibition period for ONE PIECE x MERCER LABS is set from October 9 to November 30, and we can’t wait for this dreamy journey to begin.
