Xiaomi home appliances arrive in Hong Kong with a shallow 8 kg front-load washer and a 7 L steam air fryer, priced at approximately $318.62 (originally HK$2,499) and approximately $152.87 (originally HK$1,199), respectively.

Xiaomi home appliances fit Hong Kong homes with a 421 mm depth

Many Hong Kong households must match a new washer to a tight installation space, not just pick the largest drum they can find. Xiaomi says the Mijia front-load washer, rated for 8 kg, has a machine depth of 421 mm, making it easier to fit where space is limited.

Before buying, measure the installation space with the washer door open, and check inlet, drain hose, and door or sliding-panel clearances, Xiaomi advised. The company lists the drum as 525 cubic millimeters and highlights a higher-torque wash system for tougher loads.

Remote control and hygiene programs for busy households
The washer supports a color display, the Mi Home App, Google Assistant voice control, and over-the-air software updates, Xiaomi said. For busy users the remote start function means clothes can be loaded before leaving home, then washed so they are not left sitting in the drum for hours.
Xiaomi also highlighted a steam-based sanitary program. According to test results published by CVC Testing Technology Co. Ltd., the specified sanitary cycle achieves 99.99 percent bacterial reduction, 99.99 percent viral reduction, and 100 percent mite removal under the lab conditions cited, though Xiaomi cautioned that not every wash mode delivers the same effect.
The Mijia front-load washer is intended for two- to four-person households, Xiaomi said; larger families or those who frequently wash bulky bedding should evaluate capacity based on actual laundry habits.
Xiaomi set the recommended retail price at HK$2,499, which includes delivery and basic installation, and offers a two-year full machine warranty plus a 12-year motor warranty, the company said. That price equals approximately $318.62 (originally HK$2,499).
7 L steam air fryer for families who cook larger portions

The Mijia smart steam air fryer 7 L combines hot-air frying with steam injection. Xiaomi says the hybrid approach helps preserve moisture in meat while still producing a crisp surface, making it suited to chicken wings, chops, salmon, and reheating bread.

The unit has a 1.5 L water tank, a 900 W steam system, and a temperature range from 30 to 230 degrees Celsius. Xiaomi lists 10 cooking functions and 25 preset recipes, and the company says the 7 L capacity can hold a whole chicken, about 800 grams of fries, or roughly 24 chicken wings.

The fryer includes a double-layer rack to cook different items at once, but Xiaomi warns users to consider thickness, cooking time, and potential dripping between layers. For mixed items that require different doneness, users may still need to swap trays or cook in batches.

Measure space, check cleaning habits, and match your existing appliances
The Mijia steam air fryer uses a 304 stainless steel inner tank and a PFAS-free nonstick coating on the basket, and the basket cuts power when removed. Xiaomi set the recommended retail price at HK$1,199, equal to approximately $152.87 (originally HK$1,199).
For households that already own a small air fryer, the value of these Xiaomi home appliances depends on whether the steam function replaces a steamer, an oven, or some reheating tasks. If you mainly cook for one or two people, or prefer a smaller unit that requires less routine cleaning of a water tank, a traditional compact air fryer may be more practical.
Both products went on sale July 10 at Xiaomi retail stores and the official Xiaomi Hong Kong web store, Xiaomi said. The company recommends measuring installation depths and drain positions for the washer, and checking counter and storage space before buying the air fryer.
In short, Xiaomi home appliances target customers who need a shallower washer with sanitary programs and included installation, and families who want a larger-capacity air fryer that combines crisping with steam. Buyers should measure their space, consider cleaning routines, and confirm any special installation needs with the retailer before purchase.
