Siobhán Haughey Asian Games dominance continued in Nagoya on Tuesday, as the Hong Kong swimmer added two golds and one silver at the 2026 Asian Games, according to official Asian Games results.
Haughey began the run of victories on Saturday, Sept. 21, in the women’s 200-meter freestyle final in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan. She led from the start and used strong turns and a steady rhythm to touch first in 1 minute, 54.96 seconds, successfully defending her title, official Asian Games timing showed.

On Sunday, Sept. 22, Haughey moved to the women’s 100-meter freestyle final and again proved difficult to catch, holding off challengers from China and Japan to finish first in 52.45 seconds, official results show. The victory completed back-to-back Asian Games sweeps of the 100 and 200 free for Haughey, who now has golds in both events at consecutive Games.
After the race, Haughey said, “I think I performed well overall, and I am very happy to win with my family watching in person.” She added that she still plans to contest the 50-meter freestyle, and that she will aim to improve on last Games’ silver while keeping expectations measured.
Relay silver and team continuity led by Siobhán Haughey
Haughey also anchored Hong Kong’s 4-by-100-meter freestyle relay, where the team of Kan Cheuk-tung (簡綽桐), Lee Sam-yiu (李芯瑤), and 16-year-old Ma Tsz-ling (馬紫玲) combined for a strong performance. The quartet finished second to host nation Japan to take a silver medal, official Asian Games results show, marking Hong Kong’s sixth consecutive Asian Games podium finish in the event.
Speaking after the relay, Haughey said she felt a special responsibility shifting from a Games newcomer to a leader for younger teammates, and that standing on the podium with them had meaningful generational significance. The Hong Kong delegation said the haul of two golds and a relay silver has given the team a boost in confidence as the swimming program continues in Nagoya.
