Nothing Ear (open) has launched in a new blue color that the company says channels retro electronics and the look of blue tennis courts, aligning the earbuds with the design language of Phone (3a) and Phone (4a).
Nothing Ear (open) design and fit
Nothing said the earbuds use a transparent aesthetic and a slim profile drawn from everyday sports gear. The company highlighted the lightweight build, noting each earbud weighs 8.1 grams, and the charging case measures 19 millimeters thick to improve pocket portability.
Battery life and charging
Nothing said the charging case extends playback to 30 hours in total. The earbuds support a fast charge function that the company said gives users about 10 hours of use after a 10 minute charge.
Durability and call performance
Nothing said the Ear (open) carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance and has passed company sweat testing. The earbuds include Clear Voice Technology tuned for calls, a dual device connection mode, and a low latency mode for video and gaming.
Software features and voice control
Users can customize the sound with a full EQ in the Nothing X app, Nothing said. When paired with a device running Nothing OS, the earbuds enable ChatGPT voice control, the company added, positioning the product at the intersection of consumer audio and AI features.
